GTClimbs.com was founded by Nigel Matthews who has 30 years experience in data management and analytics as well as being a lifelong cycling enthusiast. In 2019, Nigel took on 20 of the legendary climbs of the Tour de France including Mount Ventoux, Alpe d’Huez, Col du Galibier, Col du Tourmalet and other infamous climbs across the Vosges, Alps, Pyrenees and Massif Central mountain ranges of France – covering a distance of more than 800km and cumulative elevation gain in excess of 27km (equivalent to more than three ascents of Everest).
As well as raising funds for charitable causes, the challenge cemented a deep respect for the professional cyclists that toil the slopes of Grand Tour climbs and fostered a desire to help other like-minded enthusiasts to fulfil their own challenges equipped with the most appropriate resources and tools – welcome to GTClimbs.com!
